A Mirror 03:51
It’s cold in Missouri While the dark meets the day And I don’t remember Ever feeling this way It’s not quite a sadness The way that sadness is weighed I’m just hearing the world through a wall I’m just in some other room is all I can’t describe How things used to be How the colors were warmer And never would bleed Over the lines That define what would be A beautiful portrait of myself Now I only see somebody else I look in the mirror And I search for the key To the door in my mind That just might set me free or push me down deeper without out a guarantee that I’ll like the things I find those things that can only be mine Here the past and the present And the future replay Slowed down and silent For to see my mistakes And the women I’ve loved And the friends that I’ve made They wave, beckoning me Do I go, or do I leave?

I've been a moonshiner for seventeen long years. I've spent all my money on whiskey and beer. I go to some barroom and set up my still and if whiskey don't kill me I don't know what will. I go to some hollow and drink with my friends where that women won't follow and see what I spend. God bless those pretty women. I wish they was mine. Their breath is as sweet as the dew on the vine. Let me eat when I'm hungry. Whiskey when I'm dry. Green grass when I'm hard up. Religion when I die. The whole world is a bottle and life is a dram. When that bottle gets empty, well it ain't worth a damn. I've been a moonshiner for seventeen long years. I've spent all my money on whiskey and beer. I go to some barroom and set up my still and if whiskey don't kill me I don't know what will.

Backwards 02:58
I passed over a cloud where I could not look down to see the fauna and flora a-mixing a nectar so sweet to challenge the beat of temptation's black heart reaffixing. I came back to the earth and sat at the hearth, warmed by the wood set a-burning. But laying so low the angle won't show just how slowly these lands are a-turning. I gave you a rock to keep in your pocket in an attempt to keep you from rising. Told you a thing but the harmonic ring distracted your ears from my lying. So I begged for the rain but when the water came it weighed down my garments like shackles and I couldn't run to a circle of sun where the water might lift from me backwards. I pulled greens from the ground and without smile nor frown tilted my head in contemplation. What indifference is this that brings me to twist those petals from their perfect arrangements?
